A MURDER trial is set to begin today, following the discovery of a decomposing body in Hertfordshire woodland.

Two brothers, Daniel Davies and Troy Shudlt, are accused of murdering Danny Spires, whose body was found in a wooded area off Bradmore Lane, Brookmans Park, on September 24, last year.

Daniel Davies, formerly of Welwyn Garden City, and Troy Shuldt, of no fixed abode, will appear at St Albans Crown Court today (Monday).

The pair, aged 23 and 19, will be joined in the dock by Samantha Smith, 21, of Alma Road, St Albans, who is accused of conspiracy to murder.

Davies, now of Alma Road, St Albans, and Shuldt have been remanded in custody while awaiting trial.
