Eight suspected illegal immigrants made a run for it after jumping out of a lorry in Brookmans Park.

Police were called just after 10am this morning following reports that illegal immigrants had jumped out of a lorry in Great North Road, Brookmans Park.

A police spokeswoman said: “The driver remained at the scene and we conducted a search of the area and found eight people who have been detained for illegal entry into the UK.

“They have been taken to our custody unit in Hatfield and will be handed over to the UK Border Agency.”

The eight suspected illegal immigrants are all men.
