Police have released a man under investigation after he was arrested on suspicion of murder in Welwyn Garden City.

Police are continuing to investigate the death of a woman in Blythway, Welwyn Garden City.

A police spokeswoman said today (Thursday); “A 53-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City has been released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to this incident.”

Police were called at 10.54pm Tuesday, August 15, to Blythway following reports of a domestic related incident in which a woman had allegedly been assaulted.

Paramedics were called but the woman, aged in her 60s, died at the scene.

The 53-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of assault, but subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder.
