Prize pooches and agile hounds can show off their talents at a Kimpton rescue centre’s open day and dog show this weekend.

Blue Cross Kimpton is expecting hundreds of people and their dogs to join in with a variety of games and challenges - there will be a chance to win prizes in classes such as Best Rescue Dog, Most Appealing Eyes, and Waggiest Tail.

A Crufts star who was abandoned at the local centre at six weeks old, Olly, will perform at 1.30pm.

There will also be the change to enter raffles, get pet care tips on stalls, buy goods, and speak to behaviour experts.

Community fundraising officer at the Kimpton centre, Francesca Baisden, said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity to get the community together and celebrate the love of our pets.”

Entry for each class is £2, and registration starts at 11am on Sunday, July 16, from 11am-3pm.
