A Welwyn Garden City family are thrilled after the grand opening of their bridal shop was a success.
Anne-Marie Conway has taken over Jays Bridal in Moors Walk and renamed it Birdcage Bridal Boutique, with her daughter Bethany Conway and partner Ian Duffield.
The family held the grand opening earlier this month, with visitors being treated to Prosecco, cake and a sale.
Ian said: “We were so busy on our opening weekend with well-wishers, friends and family, but more importantly customers visiting our shop and telling us how they’d seen the piece in the Welwyn Hatfield Times and were so impressed with what we’ve done to the shop.
“It was fantastic to get some positive comments and also to sell some wedding dresses.
“There was good use of the bridal catwalk with everyone wanting to try it and more than nine brides came over the two days to try on dresses.”
Bethany, who was born in Welwyn Garden City, is acting as store manager alongside her mother, who is the company director.
Anne-Marie said: “I’ve always wanted to bring a unique and stylish wedding dress experience to Welwyn Garden City and now I’m doing something that I’ve always wanted to do.”
The shop has undergone a refurbishment and has new features including a second large fitting room and a bridal catwalk for final fitting brides to practice walking down the aisle.
