A BMW motorcyclist has been banned after speeding on the A1(M) in Hertfordshire.

A motorcyclist has been banned from driving after going 113mph on the A1(M) when the limit is 70mph.

Derrick Grace, 52, has been banned from driving for 28 days after speeding on his BMW R Nine T bike.

Grace was fined £120, ordered to pay victim services £30 and costs of £85 when his case was heard at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on November 23.

The defendant was caught doing 113mph at South Mimms between Junction 1 and 2 on March 14 by means of a follow check.

Grace was travelling on the northbound carriageway at the time of the offence.

The 52-year-old, of Cockfosters Road, Barnet, did not attend court for the hearing.
