AN air ambulance landed on a school field to rush a patient to hospital.

The helicopter landed at Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School in Woods Avenue just after 1pm on Wednesday.

The East of England Ambulance Service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “Ambulance crews from WGC and the trust’s hazardous area response team and the Essex Air Ambulance attended the scene.

“We were alerted to a woman in her 30s with a back problem and following treatment she was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further care.
