Air ambulance lands in Welwyn Garden City to help elderly lady

An air ambulance landed at Welwyn Garden City’s Waitrose store today after an elderly lady was taken ill.

Emergency services were called to the supermarket off Bridge Road at 2.50pm, with paramedics and police attending the scene.

A police spokesman told the WHT that the woman, described as aged in her 80s, had been taken to hospital.
