Driver fined for doing over 100mph on A1(M) in Hatfield

A speeding driver has been fined hundreds of pounds after travelling at more than 100mph on the A1(M) at Hatfield.

Rajan Haer drove a Vauxhall Astra on the A1(M) between Junction 3 for south Hatfield and Junction 4 for Oldings Corner, Hatfield, on April 13 at 8.46pm.

The 20-year-old was travelling at 102mph when the limit was 70mph.

Haer did not appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court when his case was heard on October 10, but he entered a guilty plea.

The resident of Wymondley Road in Hitchin was fined £475.

He was ordered to pay victim services £47 and costs of £85.

He was given six penalty points.

In total he must pay £607.
