There are severe delays on the A1(M) southbound this morning after a crash between Stevenage and Welwyn.

The collision, involving two vehicles, happened near Junction 6 for Welwyn on the southbound carriageway at about 6.30am.

There are long queues as far back as Junction 9 for Letchworth Gate, with delays of up to 30 minutes against expected traffic.

Work is underway to recover one of the vehicles involved, leaving the road partially blocked.

Police are at the scene and have confirmed no-one has been hurt, but drivers are being told to pass with caution as there are reports of debris on the road.
