The A1(M) northbound carriageway between Junction 6 for Welwyn and Junction 7 for Stevenage is currently closed after a multi-vehicle crash earlier this morning.

The same stretch southbound was blocked for a time to allow an air ambulance to land, but this has since reopened.

A diversion route from Junction 6 – heading along the B197 London Road through Woolmer Green, Knebworth and Stevenage – is in place.

More to follow.
