A host of exciting new food traders have been revealed for Welwyn Garden City's World Food Festival, with the beloved event just two weeks away.

On Saturday, May 11, and Sunday May 12, the town centre will be transformed into a food lovers’ paradise from 11am until 6pm.

Hungry punters will be able to choose from authentic delights from more than 40 different traders, offering cuisine from around the globe.

As well as returning favourites, there will be businesses serving up tasty grub for the very first time at the event, including Welwyn Garden City's own L'Artista della Pizza and Picnic Social.

If you're in the food for proper American-style street food, then Spread Your Wings, Mad Macs Gourmet Mac 'n' Cheese and Killa Waffles have you covered.

Dough with the Flow will be serving up wood-fired pizza and Hyderabadi Dhaba will bring the tastes of India while The Weeping Chef, Smokewoodbbq and award-winning Caribbean Funky Elephant all look set to be popular.

And for those in need of something sweet, the Churro Boyz will be dishing up everyone's favourite Spanish snack.

Returning traders include award-winning burgers from Café 77, paella from Papa Paella and delicious plant-based wholefoods from Yom.

As well as their usual dishes, Welwyn Garden City BID has worked with traders to create an enticing taster menu priced at £5 or under, allowing visitors to sample more and experience many different flavours at an affordable price.

There will also be a World Music Stage with rhythms from across the globe, A world market area, live cooking demonstrations, walkabout performances, a kid’s fun zone and much more for the whole family to enjoy.

"We are so excited to be bringing back the World Food Festival to the town. It’s such a fantastic event which helps attract people to our town centre," said Nicky Wolff, manager of the Welwyn Garden City BID.

"Over the years, this event has grown and has become a firm favourite in our events calendar, and we are pleased to announce we will be hosting an additional World Food Festival in September.

"The World Food Festival is the perfect opportunity to experience the diverse culinary traditions of different cultures and to enjoy a fun-filled weekend with family and friends. With something for everyone, it's an event not to be missed."
