A patient has been hospitalised after a van and a car were involved in a crash on the A602 near Watton-at-Stone.

The incident took place at around 9.28am today (Monday, April 15), near the junction with Mill Lane.

Hertfordshire police, the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, with road closures put in place.

The road was reopened by 11.42am.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were made aware of a road traffic collision on the A602, near the junction of Mill Lane, at around 9.28am today (Monday 15 April).

"Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the ambulance and fire service, and two vehicles were reportedly involved.

"Road closures were put in place, and these were lifted by 11.42am."

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 9:50am this morning to a collision between a van and a car on the A602 near Watton-at-Stone.

"One fire engine from Ware fire station was sent to the scene, where firefighters helped to make the vehicles safe."

Lastly, a spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service commented: "One ambulance was sent to reports of a road traffic collision at the A602 near Watton At Stone Hertford this morning.

"One patient was transported to Lister Hospital for further assessment and care."
