Shoppers and staff met the police in a Welwyn Garden City department store as part of an initiative tackling retail crime.
The Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team have hosted crime prevention stalls in John Lewis as part of their efforts to reduce criminal offences in shops.
PCSOs Emma Carson and James Pedder took to the Welwyn Garden City store on Friday, March 8 to speak to staff about how they can help prevent crimes such as shoplifting, burglary and assault.
They returned on Saturday, March 23, with PC Wilson Yeung, to give the public another chance to come along and meet with their local police.
The stalls were organised as part of the national month of action to tackle retail crime, an initiative introduced by the National Business Crime Centre.
All local business owners and shop workers were invited to attend and the invite was also open to the wider public looking for general crime prevention advice.
PCSO Carson said: “We work hard all year round to ensure that businesses are safe from crime.
"We have officers dedicated to Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City town centres and they regularly visit the local shops and businesses, offering advice and making sure everything is in order.
"The month of action is an opportunity to remind local businesses and shop workers that we are here to support you from retail crime.
“I would like to thank everybody who came along to our stall. We hope you found it useful.”
