Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), operator of Great Northern and Thameslink, has welcomed two new retail businesses to Hatfield station.
The recently opened Kerbside Coffee and Budgens supermarket are thriving in retail units that had been vacant for several months, even two years.
The new businesses signal a promising recovery trend across the GTR network following Covid-induced challenges.
David Gornall, GTR’s commercial director, said: "It’s heartening to see our stations’ retail businesses bouncing back after such a difficult period."
Jason Harris, founder of Kerbside Coffee, promised a positive impact on the Hatfield community, highlighting Kerbside's commitment to exceptional coffee and freshly baked goods.
The community too has warmly embraced these openings, especially following the closure of a previous supermarket last year.
Mary Lowe of the Hatfield Association of Rail Travellers said: "We are very pleased that things moved on quickly following that meeting and that these two businesses have now opened."
