The death of a man who was found in Hatfield on Saturday is "not being treated as suspicious", police have confirmed.

At 12.42pm on Saturday, August 19, officers were called to Briars Close following a concern for welfare report.

A man in his 50s was found in an outbuilding on Briars Close, but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A formal identification of the man is yet to take place, but the death is "not being treated as suspicious", according a Herts police spokesman.

"Police were called at around 12.42pm on Saturday, August 21, following a concern for welfare report in Hatfield," he told the Welwyn Hatfield Times.

"Officers attended, and a man aged in his 50s was found in an outbuilding on Briars Close.

"He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and formal identification is yet to take place.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious."
