England's clash with Spain in the Women's World Cup final will be shown at Screen on the Green on Sunday, Welwyn Garden City BID has now confirmed.

After requests from residents to show the final on the big screens being used for the popular movie event, it has now been announced that fans can watch the event for free in Howardsgate.

"We have been working hard with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to make your request to show the Women's FA cup Final here at Screen On The Green in Welwyn Garden City possible," read a post on the BID's Facebook page.

"We are delighted to announce that this is going ahead and we will be live streaming the fixture free of charge.

"So head down to Welwyn Garden City town centre and help us cheer on the Lionesses."

Fans will be able to queue for entry from 9.30am, with doors opening at 10am ahead of kick-off at 11am.

Supporters will also be able to bring their own chairs and blankets to sit on, but the site will close shortly after full-time.

Alcohol will also be permitted and sold at a small kiosk, but the BID has made it clear that anyone "acting intoxicated or anti-social, will be refused entry or asked to leave".

Sarina Wiegman's side beat hosts Australia 3-1 on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo, and are now looking to become world champions after winning the Euros last summer.

But they will face a tough task against a talented Spanish side at Stadium Australia, who have knocked out both the Netherlands and Sweden to reach the showpiece.
