An elderly man has died after a three-vehicle crash in Brookmans Park on Wednesday.

At around 7.45pm, a blue Ford Fiesta, a VW Transporter van and a white Mitsubishi Outlander were involved in a collision on the Great North Road, also known as the A1000.

Sadly, the passenger in the Ford, a man aged in her 90s, died at the scene, while the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this very sad time," said Inspector Peter Scholes, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit.
