A 12-year-old boy was arrested following an incident in Welwyn Garden City.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called following an incident at McDonalds in Howardsgate yesterday at 5.15pm.

“It is alleged that a group of youths entered the restaurant and one had gotten into a verbal altercation with a man before reportedly threatening him.

“A 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
