WITH its centenary year coming to a close it’s time for one last push to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The latest total in the WHT-backed £100,000 appeal is £75,317.58, and with another £19,000 pledged the charity is almost there.
One of many fundraisers this year is Richard Turner and Associates, based in Brownfields, WGC, which raised more than £2,000 with a series of events.
The firm’s Charlotte Astill told the WHT: “I ran the Bupa 10k and Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.
“We raised over £700 hosting a Macmillan coffee morning and raffle and my kids and their school friends in Hitchin have organised various cake bakes throughout the year.”
She added: “It has been a pleasure taking part in the Macmillan Centenary Challenge.
“As a company, it has given us a real focus for our fundraising efforts this year and helped raise our profile amongst our clients.
“On a personal level I have become much fitter, while having a lot of fun.
“More importantly I have realised that almost everyone is touched by cancer and the support Macmillan provides is invaluable.”
