Emergency services rushed to the M25 last night after a van overturned in the fast lane.

There was a crash at about 11.30pm between junctions 22 and 21a anti-clockwise, near St Albans and Potters Bar, and a box van was left on its side.

All the traffic had to be stopped at about 1.45am for a short time while the vehicle was recovered.

St Albans and Garston firefighters, along with a specialist Rescue Support Unit, released one person who was trapped inside the van.

All lanes were reopened by 2am.
