PERFORMERS will be Living the Dream in a locking and poppin’ showcase at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
Members of performing arts company Living the Dream will take over The Weston Auditorium on the university’s De Havilland Campus this weekend.
Talented dancers from as young as five will perform two nights at the Hatfield venue, featuring a variety of dance styles – from street, contemporary, hip-hop and jazz, as well as singing and performing live music, musical theatre and comedy.
Living the Dream is one of the few performing arts companies in the UK run by young people for young people.
St Albans resident Zoe Jackson set up the company in 2006 at the age of 16.
She wanted to give young people the chance to take part in something affordable, accessible, fun and exciting.
Over the last six years Living the Dream has grown beyond recognition and is now made up of more than 500 talented young people, aged five to 25, who take part in classes, events, showcases and flashmobs in a youth-led environment.
Living the Dream’s Easter showcase takes place on Saturday and Sunday at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £12 and £7 concessions. They are available from the UHArts box office on 01707 281127 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
