SIMON Braine has stepped down from his role as manager of Welwyn Garden City.
Braine guided the Citizens to a 1th-place finish in the SSML Division One last season, finishing with 45 points from their 43 games played.
However, it was a season of frustration for Braine, who struggled to get consistency in his line-up.
A club statement reads: “Welwyn Garden City FC would like to announce that first team manager Simon Braine has stepped down from his position stating that he wants to take a year out.
“The club would like to thank him for all his hard work last season and have invited him to join the football committee which he has gladly accepted.”
Applications for the job should be e-mail by Friday, June 1 to richarddunning@ymail.com
