A KNIFE-WIELDING man chased by police through Hatfield Town Centre is still being hunted by officers.
At around 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) police approached a man they believed may have witnessed a fight in the town centre, but he ran off as officers got nearer.
One officer gave chase on foot, but when he caught up with him, the man brandished a knife and ran off again.
He was last seen on Stockbridge Road.
Armed police were still out searching for the man yesterday afternoon, and today issued a public appeal for help in identifying the man.
A police spokesman said: “The incident began at 4.30pm on Tuesday in Market Place and the man was chased to Stockbridge Road before officers lost sight of him.
“No one was injured during the incidents but police need to identify the man.”
The man is described as white, in his early 30s with short dark hair.
He is around 5ft 10in tall and has a slim build. He was wearing light blue jeans and a white t-shirt with a blue logo on the back.
