Ben SwainName: Ben Swain

Date of Birth: 31/03/1986

Born: Welwyn Garden City

Lives: Sheffield

Sport: Diving

Section: Men’s 3m synchro, men’s 3m springboard

Club: City of Sheffield

Interesting Fact: Ben began his diving career at the Hatfield-based Beaumont Diving Academy.

Swain and diving partner Nick Robinson-Baker competed in the FINA World Series event earlier this year where they won a bronze medal.

He is currently studying a degree in Sport and Exercise Science with Manchester Metropolitan University.

WHT Olympic analysis: With Canada and China going into the event as favourites, bronze medal is certainly a minimum aim for Swain and partner Robinson-Baker. However, as Swain says "the littlest mistake can cost many places in the table,"

So anything is possible. Expect the former Monk’s Walk School pupil to be challenging for a podium in Beijing.
