Events yesterday have revived hopes of a Hatfield Town title double in the Herts Senior County League.
Trevor Lloyd's men beat Sandridge as expected, but Met Police Bushey were sunk 4-1 at home by Hertford Heath. That wasn't expected and gives Town a realistic chance of snatching the Premier title once again.
Hatfield are still six points behind Met Police, but do have a game in hand and have also to play the Bushey side at home. That meeting later this month will almost certainly decide who wins the championship.
The momentum could be turning Hatfield's way again. They have a superior goal difference and victory over the Police, coupled with winning their remaining games, would make them champions!
Town's second string also did the business yesterday against their main title rivals, Met Police Bushey Reserves, and have returned top of the table with games in hand.
A title double anyone?
we can only say welcome to management trevor
toilet rolls all round
promotion, and two championships we can all only hope and pray
what a year it could be for us
just the ground now left ,heres hoping
Although not mathematically in the bag yet - there's still two games to win - yesterday's victory over Met Police makes it look odds on for a second title trophy for Town. Well done to all the players and management team.
